Ever been what you say is “hacked”? It’s not fun is it? I’m going to define how you mean “hacked”. There are many reasons someone gets hacked. Another thing people, including me, are sick of. Here’s an example: (Not a real one, just one I made up…. but you get the point)
“DO YOU WANT 25000 STARDOLLARS, 77 OUTFITS OF YOU CHOICE, 21 GIFTS? THEN POST THIS IN 15 OTHER GUESTBOOKS, PRESS F5, LOG OUT, LOG BACK IN AND YOU HAVE IT!!”
See, annoying, right? I don’t get why people do it. Another thing than annoys me that causes “hacking” is when someone says this:
“Hey, do you want a makeover? I can give you one for free, and I DO NOT hack you! Plzzzzz?” and when you say yes, SNAP! Soomeone steals you account. Smart people change the email address, the dumb ones probably say “Eh, who cares, they’re not getting it back.” Sure they’re not. I keep thinking “Why do people do this?” and then I figured they might be bored, or offer you your account back for certain amount of gifts. Makeovers are just a cheap way of saying “Hey! I want to hack you! Please say yes, and I might offer you your account back!”.
This isn’t really a “hacker repellent”, but just a few ways to learn how you pass up these dreadful cons.
1) Ignore all makeover offers. Most of the time, they are scams to get you to hand over your password. And….. if you really want a makeover, ask them to give you one without the password, make a picture of it, and then, if you like it, you might actually give them the chance to log in.
2) Being hacked is where people find out info about you, and they find out your password. Most thing giving out their password is being hacked. It’s not! YOU are the one who gives out your password. It’s not your fault, you might trust them, and they turn on you.
3) Always do what the hacker says. If they say they want to to make their account superstar, do not do it. It’s is extreme, and you might not have the money. If you ask mom, she might say “Just make a new account”, but if your mom is like this: “I put too much money into that, so I am not going to have someone take it! Is a month ok?”, you’re lucky. Gift-wise, your going to need an account to send gifts to, so say: “I’m going to need my account so I can send you gifts.” It might work, I don’t know, I have never been hacked.
4) OK, I cannot think of a number four, but this is for you! Leave a reply saying how YOU would deal with a hacker/account stealer.
